In addition to providing you with downloadable resources and links to a variety of websites that focus on ways to support your children's learning from birth through high school, the Kansas Parent Information Resource Center is developing a series of web-based training opportunities that you can access for personal and professional use. We currently have a recent podcast with Dr. Steven Constantino, a national leader in family engagement facilitated by Jane Groff with the KPIRC. We have several powerpoints that we encourage you to use focusing on parent involvement in supporting children's literacy, math, and science development and others that focus on parent involvement and parent rights under the current No Child Left Behind legislation. The On-Line Tutorial page contains information on how you can access a variety of free-online tutorials from Verizon Thinkfinity that focus on adult literacy, children's literacy, ways to involve parents, reaching out to homeless and migrant families, and other literacy-related topics.
