Supporting Care Providers Training,
Olathe 2007

Research in early childhood is very clear on two things:

Learning begins in the womb and...

A family’s involvement in their child’s life has a lasting impact on that child’s health and success as an adult.

That is why KPIRC places a strong emphasis on family engagement in the early childhood years. We believe that the home is where support for learning begins and where it must continue throughout a child’s education.

KPIRC has worked hard at identifying early childhood organizations with which to partner in recognition that other programs also share our conviction of the importance of family engagement in the early childhood years. Additionally, KPIRC offers parents:
· Opportunities to attend training events on a variety of topics related to family engagement, at low or no out of pocket expense,
· Information regarding early childhood development and early literacy skills,
· Access to programs that can help enhance a child’s early development, and
· Support and advocacy for parent involvement in policy at the state and national level.
