| Jane Groff,
assistant director, will assist in the oversight of all KPIRC activities,
especially those that focus on Title I involvement in K-12 school based
programs, faith based organizations and implementing parent involvement
into college and university teacher preparation programs. Jane has 28 years
of experience as an educator having recently been a consultant with the
Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) in Student Support Services.
While at the KSDE, Jane’s focus was the oversight of professional
development for the State Improvement Grant. One aspect of the grant involved
assisting in the design of a Family School Community Partnership Curriculum.
This curriculum promoted true partnerships between schools, families and
communities to achieve student success.
Previous to her work
with the KSDE, Jane taught in K-3 classrooms and in early childhood special
education. For 15 years, Jane worked with families in a 25 member educational
cooperative organization designing curriculum and oversight of a K-12
educational program that included students with disabilities. As a parent
of 3 children, Jane understands the desire that parents have to see their
children succeed. “I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity
to support and promote parent involvement/family engagement with parents,
schools and the educational organizations and businesses that surround
children’s lives.” |
