Tammie Benham began her career in education
with a BS in Elementary
Education from Washburn University, where she taught in the Topeka Magnet
schools. She then went on to earn an MS in Early Childhood Special
Education and spent seven years working as
an integral member of the Kansas Inservice Training System.
Ms. Benham recently completed a Master of Library &
Information Science
degree from Emporia State University where she was a Phi Kappa Phi honor
student.
In her current position of Assistant Director for Kansas
Parent Information
Resource Center, Ms. Benham is responsible for educating individuals in
the
early childhood field on the importance of parent involvement beginning
at
birth. She presents at local, regional, state, and national conferences
and
workshops targeting families, early childhood educators and other
professionals working with young children.
