El lazo entre las familias y el Apoyo para el Comportamiento Positivo en la Escuela (SWPBS) es importante. Cuando las familias están involucradas en las actividades educacionales de manera significativa, sus hijos se desempeñan mejor en sus escuelas. Las familias juegan un papel importante en la educación y el desarrollo social de sus hijos. La presencia de los padres en las escuelas no solamente proporciona apoyo académico adicional sino que también crea conexiones comunitarias y culturales. En muchas escuelas, la participación de las familias en el proceso de apoyo para el comportamiento positivo en la escuela está creciendo. Los miembros de familia son parte de los equipos de planificación estatal, distrital y escolar y participan en actividades de la escuela en diferentes maneras.
