El lazo entre las familias y el Apoyo para el Comportamiento Positivo en la Escuela (SWPBS) es importante. Cuando las familias están involucradas en las actividades educacionales de manera significativa, sus hijos se desempeñan mejor en sus escuelas. Las familias juegan un papel importante en la educación y el desarrollo social de sus hijos. La presencia de los padres en las escuelas no solamente proporciona apoyo académico adicional sino que también crea conexiones comunitarias y culturales. En muchas escuelas, la participación de las familias en el proceso de apoyo para el comportamiento positivo en la escuela está creciendo. Los miembros de familia son parte de los equipos de planificación estatal, distrital y escolar y participan en actividades de la escuela en diferentes maneras. El involucramiento familiar ayuda a proporcionar consistencia entre la casa y la escuela, la clave del éxito para todos los estudiantes. Los miembros de la familia participan en el proceso de valoraciones y resolución de problemas para crear esquemas de apoyo para el comportamiento positivo individualizado cuando son necesarios para los estudiantes.

A Family Guide to Schoolwide Positive Behavior Supports (SWPBS)

The link between families and Schoolwide Positive Behavior Supports (SWPBS) is an important one. When families are meaningfully involved in educational activities their children do better in schools. Families play an important part in their child’s education and social development. The presence of parents in schools not only provides additional academic supports but also creates community and cultural connections. In many schools, family participation in the schoolwide positive behavior support process is growing. Family members are part of state, district, and school planning teams and participate in schoolwide activities in a variety of ways. Family involvement helps to provide consistency between home and school, the key to success for all students. Family members participate in the assessment and problem solving process to create individualized positive behavior support plans when necessary for their children. This booklet is designed to help families understand the important role they play in Schoolwide Positive Behavior Supports.
